The Research Foundation of the City University of New York received a three-year, $299,439 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Office of International Science and Engineering. The grant will support the "IRES TRACK I: Engaging Students in Management Oriented Research to Conserve Rainforest Primates in Uganda" program.
Under the grant, Hunter College will engage students in field research focused on conserving rainforest primates in Uganda from October 2021 through September 2024. The research directly aligns with the goals of the National Science Foundation's Office of International Science and Engineering to strengthen international partnerships and advance scientific discovery globally. It will enable U.S. and Ugandan students to collaborate on management-oriented studies to inform conservation of endangered primate species in Ugandan rainforests through hands-on field work.
