The University of Wisconsin-Madison received a three-year, $326,446 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Earth Sciences under the Geosciences program (CFDA 47.050). The grant will fund research from August 2021 through July 2024 to identify the role of dissolved organic matter composition in complete and partial photooxidation in diverse lakes. As part of the Geosciences program's goal to expand understanding of the integrated Earth system through basic research, this project will strengthen knowledge of photochemical processes involving dissolved organic matter in various aquatic environments. The University of Wisconsin System will oversee performance of the research through its Research and Sponsored Programs division.
