The Research Foundation For The State University Of New York (RF SUNY) was awarded a $231,344 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support research titled "RUI: STRUCTURAL AND COMPOSITIONAL MODIFICATION OF MEMRISTIVE NIOBIUM OXIDE FILMS FOR NEUROMORPHIC COMPUTING APPLICATIONS" from June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2024.
The grant was awarded under the NSF's Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049), which supports research aimed at advancing scientific knowledge and understanding in these fields. Specifically, the funding will support RF SUNY's research exploring structural and compositional modifications to memristive niobium oxide films for applications in neuromorphic computing. The work will be conducted in Brockport, New York and is expected to contribute to progress in this emerging area of computing technology designed to mimic neural architectures present in the human brain.
