New York University will receive $250,000 from the National Science Foundation to conduct collaborative research on discovering precipitation pathways in reactive magnesium oxide cements via nanoscale interfacial engineering for durable structural composites, under the NSF's Engineering program (CFDA 47.041). The three-year project grant awarded on June 1, 2021 will support research exploring nanoscale engineering techniques to improve the durability of magnesium oxide-based structural composites. The NSF Directorate for Engineering seeks to advance innovation and excellence in engineering research, with a goal of improving quality of life and economic strength. This award aims to further those objectives through collaborative research on developing more durable composite materials using reactive magnesium oxide cements.
