The University of Illinois was awarded a two-year, $100,408 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation to support research titled "HYPERPOLARIZATION CATALYSTS FOR IN SITU MECHANISTIC STUDIES" under the agency's Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049). The grant aims to promote progress in the mathematical and physical sciences by increasing scientific knowledge and understanding of major problems. Specifically, funding will allow researchers at the University of Illinois to conduct mechanistic studies of hyperpolarization catalysts for applications such as magnetic resonance imaging, with work taking place in Urbana, Illinois through April 2023.
