This $446,146 project grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health supports the VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (CFDA 64.033). The Veterans Onestop Center of WNY Inc. will use the funding to provide supportive services to very low-income veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing.
As required by the program, the organization will deliver outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits. They may also provide temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties for childcare, emergency housing, transportation, rent/utility payments, security deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability support. Optional services include legal assistance and financial management. The award period began October 1, 2021 and aims to help very low-income veteran families maintain housing stability.
