The National Science Foundation awarded Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Inc. a $362,621 Project Grant under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049) to support an REU Site: Research Projects in Data-Enabled Industrial Mathematics from April 15, 2021 through March 31, 2024.
The grant funding will support undergraduate students in conducting research projects that apply modern data analysis techniques to industrial problems. As part of the REU Site, students will receive mentoring from university faculty and partnering organizations as they work on research projects that leverage large and complex data sets to address real-world challenges in manufacturing and other data-intensive industries. This work will promote progress in the mathematical and physical sciences by strengthening the Nation's scientific enterprise through increased knowledge and understanding, consistent with the goals of the NSF's Mathematical and Physical Sciences program.
