This $250,942 Project Grant award from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) under the Crop Protection and Pest Management (CPPM) Competitive Grants Program will support integrated pest management (IPM) research, extension, and education initiatives at Michigan State University (MSU) from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025. The key objectives are to: 1) Expand and support IPM information delivery by MSU Extension work teams; 2) Develop innovative tools to improve extension outcomes in specialty crops; and 3) Enhance pest diagnostics services to enable IPM decision making. This will involve critical agriculture, pollinator, and community-focused IPM outreach, invasive pest mitigation, IPM systems development, priority identification and communication, and enhanced IPM services. The project builds on MSU's legacy of impactful IPM outreach through dozens of extension faculty.
