The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture (UADA) was awarded a $749,806 4-year project grant from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) under the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (CFDA 10.310) to deliver the Agricultural Career Exploration (ACE) program. Through ACE, students will be exposed to professionals, presentations, and hands-on experiences that demonstrate the benefits of agricultural technology to cultivate interest and build confidence in the safe and enhanced use of technology in agriculture. Students will participate in interactive workshops and demonstrations with local agricultural experts and tech companies, and be introduced to real-life success stories of farmers, environmentalists, and food producers who have benefited from incorporating advanced technology. ACE will also offer webinars for career exploration and developing interpersonal and leadership skills. This grant project aims to leverage immersive experiences, community engagement, and partnerships to further the land-grant mission of UADA in connecting trusted research to the adoption of best practices in agricultural production and related areas.
