This $503,171 Project Grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health will support the Homeless Veterans Fellowship in providing supportive services to very low-income Veteran families through the VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF Program). As outlined in the SSVF Program (CFDA 64.033), the Homeless Veterans Fellowship will coordinate or provide supportive services to Veteran families who are currently homeless, residing in permanent housing, or are at risk of homelessness. Required services include outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits. The organization may also provide temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties for childcare, housing, transportation, utilities, and other basic needs. These supportive services aim to help very low-income Veteran families obtain and sustain permanent housing. The Aug. 19, 2022 award of $503,171 will allow the Homeless Veterans Fellowship to deliver these congressionally-mandated supportive services to vulnerable Veterans and their families.
