The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health awarded $2.236 million to Lighthouse Social Service Centers under the VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (CFDA 64.033) on October 1, 2025. The award funds supportive services for very low-income veteran families residing in permanent housing, homeless and scheduled to transition to permanent housing, or exiting permanent housing while seeking responsive housing alternatives in California.
Lighthouse Social Service Centers will provide mandatory outreach, case management, assistance in obtaining VA benefits, and coordination of public benefits. The organization may also deliver optional temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties on behalf of participants for child care, emergency housing assistance, transportation, rental assistance, utility-fee payment assistance, security deposits, utility deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability assistance including emergency supplies. Optional services may include legal assistance and financial management services.
The performance period runs from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026.
