The Bad River Tribe received a $576,621.72 Project Grant award from the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance to support its Treatment Facility Project. The grant was awarded on October 1, 2018 under the Tribal Justice Systems program (CFDA 16.608) with a completion date of September 30, 2022.
The Tribal Justice Systems program aims to provide funding to develop, support, and enhance tribal justice systems and prevent violent crime and crimes related to substance use disorders on tribal lands. Specifically, the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians will use the funding to support its Treatment Facility Project in New Odanah, Wisconsin, allowing it to bolster treatment and rehabilitation services for the tribal community.
