The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health awarded Changing Homelessness, Inc. $4,788,864 under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF Program, CFDA 64.033) from September 1, 2021 to September 30, 2023. The SSVF Program aims to provide supportive services grants to organizations assisting very low-income Veteran families who are homeless, at-risk of homelessness, or transitioning to permanent housing. Under this award, Changing Homelessness, Inc. will deliver outreach, case management, assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits, and temporary financial assistance paid directly to a third party for eligible Veteran families. Services include child care, housing assistance, transportation, rental/utility payment help, security deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability support. Legal assistance and financial management services are also optionally available. The grantee will coordinate and provide these supportive services to help very low-income Veteran families obtain and sustain permanent housing.
