The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health awarded a $1,270,769 project grant to Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF Program, CFDA 64.033). The grant will fund supportive services for very low-income veteran families in Mississippi from September 1, 2021 to September 30, 2023.
Required services include outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits. The grantee may also provide temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties for childcare, emergency housing, transportation, rental/utility payments, security deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability assistance per 38 CFR Part 62. Optional services may include legal assistance and financial management. The purpose of this SSVF Program grant is to coordinate or provide these supportive services to very low-income veteran families who are homeless, in permanent housing, or seeking responsive housing.
