THE GRUNDY COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING IS THE SPONSOR FOR THE RSVP OF GRUNDY COUNTY. THE GRUNDY COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING'S MISSION IS TO HELP AND SUPPORT SENIOR CITIZENS OF GRUNDY COUNTY IN ANYWAY POSSIBLE. WE FEEL AS THOUGH SENIOR CITIZENS SHOULD BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND CONSIDERATION ON EVERY LEVEL. WE FEEL SENIORS SHOULD BE ENABLED TO RETAIN THEIR INDEPENDENCE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE, AND THAT THEIR DIGNITY SHOULD NEVER BE DIMINISHED. AN ESTIMATED 182 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE. SOME OF THEIR ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES, HEALTHY FUTURES AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS HEALTHY FUTURES. AT THE END OF THE THREE-YEAR GRANT HOMEBOUND, OLDER ADULTS, OR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WILL FEEL INCREASED SOCIAL TIES OR SUPPORT AND BE HEALTHIER. NEEDED FOOD WILL HAVE BEEN COLLECTED, AND DONATED TO THOSE BELOW POVERTY LEVEL HELPING WITH THEIR MUCH NEEDED NUTRITIONAL NEEDS. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $31,986 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $17,353.
