The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health awarded $494,684 under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF; CFDA 64.033) to Alger-Marquette Community Action Board on October 1, 2021. The SSVF program aims to provide supportive services grants to organizations assisting very low-income veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing.
Through this award, Alger-Marquette Community Action Board will deliver outreach, case management, assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits, and temporary financial assistance directly to third parties for childcare, housing, transportation, utilities, and other basic needs. Additional optional services may include legal assistance and financial management support. The grantee is required to coordinate or directly provide these supportive services to very low-income veteran families in Michigan as outlined under the SSVF program.
