The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health awarded $218,617 under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF Program, CFDA 64.033) to Hampton Roads Community Action Program, Inc. on October 1, 2021.
The SSVF Program provides supportive services grants to organizations assisting very low-income Veteran families who are residing in or transitioning to permanent housing. Required services include outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits. Additional services funded for this award are temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties for childcare, emergency housing and utilities assistance, transportation, rental and security deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability assistance including emergency supplies. These services are intended to support Veteran families in obtaining and maintaining permanent housing.
