The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awarded a $767,930 Project Grant under the VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program (CFDA 64.033) to Total Action Against Poverty In Roanoke (T A P), a non-profit organization in Virginia. The purpose of the SSVF program is to provide supportive services to very low-income veteran families who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or recently exited permanent housing. T A P will use the funds to coordinate and deliver a range of required services, including outreach, case management, assistance obtaining VA and public benefits, and optional services such as temporary financial assistance for housing-related costs, legal aid, and financial counseling. The goal is to rapidly re-house homeless veterans, prevent homelessness, and ensure housing stability and self-sufficiency. This federal grant award will enable T A P to continue providing these critical supportive services to veterans and their families in Virginia.
