The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health awarded a $263,790 Project Grant to the Albany Housing Coalition, Inc. under the VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF Program, CFDA 64.033). The grant will fund supportive services for very low-income Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing from September 1, 2021 to September 30, 2023.
As required by the SSVF Program, the Albany Housing Coalition will provide outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits. The organization may also use the funding to offer temporary financial assistance paid directly to service providers for childcare, emergency housing, transportation, rent and utility payments, security deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability assistance. Optional services include legal assistance and financial management. The grant aims to coordinate or deliver these supportive services that address the needs and housing preferences of very low-income Veteran families in New York.
