The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health awarded $1,996,613 to Mental Health Services For Homeless Persons, Inc. doing business as Frontline Service through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF; CFDA 64.033) on October 1, 2021.
Through this Project Grant, Frontline Service will provide supportive services to very low-income Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing. Required services include outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits. Temporary financial assistance may also be provided directly to third parties for childcare, housing, transportation, utilities, and other stability needs. Optional services can include legal assistance and financial management. The SSVF program aims to coordinate or directly provide these supportive services to vulnerable Veteran populations.
