DESCRIPTION:THIS ACTION APPROVES FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $62,589 TO THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (MSDEQ). THE PURPOSE OF THIS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT IS TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO THE RECIPIENT FOR SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES AT SUPERFUND SITES IN MISSISSIPPI WHEN THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA) IS THE LEAD AGENCY FOR REMEDIAL ACTION. THE RECIPIENT WILL IMPLEMENT ITS OWN PROJECT TO SUPPORT SITE SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES RELATED TO REMEDIAL INVESTIGATIONS, FEASIBILITY STUDIES, PROPOSED PLANS, AND REMEDIAL DESIGNS AT EPA LEAD SITES PURSUANT TO COMPREHENSIVE ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSE, COMPENSATION, AND LIABILITY ACT (CERCLA).
