This $1.5 million Economic Development Administration Project Grant supports the Heartland Robotics Cluster led by Invest Nebraska Corporation. The funding accelerates Nebraska's leadership in agriculture through robotic technologies and advanced manufacturing automation. It also revitalizes the region's rural workforce and strengthens the nation's food supply chain. Key projects strengthened Nebraska's Innovation Studio with robotics programming and prototyping equipment. This environment enables innovators across demographics to develop automation and robotic solutions. The coalition also implements seven additional projects. These include robotic curriculum development, rural workforce outreach providing cutting-edge technology access, technology commercialization with private industry, and manufacturing demonstration spaces to de-risk adoption of new technologies. Once completed, the investment develops and strengthens regional industry clusters while embracing economic equity, good-paying jobs, and enhanced U.S. competitiveness globally. The Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration awarded the $1.5M grant under the Economic Adjustment Assistance program on August 29, 2022 for completion by August 29, 2026. Northeast Community College serves as sub-awardee.
