This $724,800 Economic Adjustment Assistance Project Grant from the Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration will support the Gillette College Foundation in establishing an Office of Transformation to assist the Northeastern Wyoming region in recovering from negative economic impacts due to the coronavirus pandemic and changes in the coal industry. The Office of Transformation will consist of partners from local governments, non-profits, and industry and will coordinate the development and implementation of innovative strategies to diversify the regional economy and increase economic resiliency. The funding will support initial startup costs, approximately one year of research and community engagement, two years of strategy implementation support, and ongoing economic research and planning. Once completed, the project aims to strengthen and diversify the regional economy in Gillette, Wyoming through the coordination and activities of the Office of Transformation.
