The U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded the City of Winona, Mississippi a $4,471,724 project grant under the Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) program. The grant will enhance Winona's water infrastructure by increasing water pressure and supply capacity, providing backup water resources during emergencies, and facilitating private sector job creation and investment. Specifically, the City estimates the project will create 15 jobs and generate $8 million in private co-investment. The regional planning efforts of the North Central Planning and Development District made the project possible by bringing together public and private stakeholders to strengthen the regional economy through capital investment and employment growth.
