EPA Region 10 awarded the Region 10 Tribal Operations Committee Consortium $900,000 under the Indian Environmental General Assistance Program (CFDA 66.926) on October 1, 2025.
The recipient will deliver technical training and capacity building to tribes throughout EPA Region 10 to strengthen their environmental management capabilities and participation in EPA programs. Activities focus on establishing public participation and education initiatives, peer-to-peer assistance, and in-person mentorship to build administrative and environmental skills aligned with tribal priorities. The grant supports collaboration among multiple tribal environmental programs to enhance tribes' ability to implement their own environmental protection efforts.
Deliverables include quarterly progress reports to EPA documenting peer-to-peer support and mentorship activities, trip reports outlining technical capacities gained from training attendance and conferences, and photographic documentation of community trainings and events. Direct beneficiaries are tribal members throughout Region 10.
Performance runs through September 30, 2027, with work performed in Alaska. No sub-awards are included in this agreement.
