THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING OF SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES THAT WILL ENSURE CLEAN, SAFE DRINKING WATER THROUGH CONSERVATION EFFORTS THAT REDUCE THE DEMAND FOR CHEMICALLY TREATED WATER. THIS PROJECT HELPS CITIZENS IDENTIFY WAYS TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES AT THE LOCAL LEVEL AND EDUCATE AND SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY. THE LONG-TERM GOALS OF THE PROGRAM ARE TO HELP BUILD THE CAPACITY OF THE AFFECTED COMMUNITY AND CREATE SELF-SUSTAINING, COMMUNITY-BASED PARTNERSHIPS THAT WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE LOCAL ENVIRONMENTS IN THE FUTURE.
