The Health Services Kentucky Cabinet For received a $615,474 formula grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Mental Health Services under the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) program (CFDA 93.150). The award, effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027, supports comprehensive services designed to assist individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness.
Under this grant, Kentucky will deliver or sub-award funding for evidence-based services including outreach, screening, diagnostic treatment, psychiatric rehabilitation, community mental health services, substance abuse treatment, case management, residential supportive services, and housing assistance. As the state-designated mental health authority, the Cabinet will distribute PATH funds to local public and nonprofit organizations to implement these services across Kentucky communities, with the goal of stabilizing vulnerable populations and facilitating their transition from homelessness.
