The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction received a $45,274,021 Formula Grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Career Technical and Adult Education under the Career and Technical Education -- Basic Grants to States program (CFDA 84.048). The grant period runs from July 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022. Funds will be used to develop the academic, technical and employability skills of secondary and postsecondary students enrolled in career and technical education programs and programs of study in North Carolina. Specifically, the funding will support initiatives to more fully develop these skills sets among students electing to participate in career-focused educational opportunities through the state's secondary and postsecondary institutions.
