LEAs receiving $30,000 or more must dedicate not less than 20 percent of their allocations to activities supporting well-rounded educational opportunities, not less than 20 percent to activities supporting safe and healthy students, and a portion to support effective use of technology. LEAs may reserve up to 2 percent of their allocations for administrative costs, while NC DPI may use no more than 1 percent for state administrative expenses. NC DPI may use remaining state-level funds to support monitoring and technical assistance to LEAs. All subgrants to LEAs must be awarded for a one-year term in amounts of not less than $10,000.
