The Maine Department of Education was awarded a $12,353,920 Student Support and Academic Enrichment Formula Grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. The grant period runs from July 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023.
The grant aims to improve student academic achievement by increasing access to well-rounded education, improving school conditions for learning, and enhancing technology use under the Student Support and Academic Enrichment program (CFDA #84.424). Funding will be provided to 76 sub-awardees, including various school districts and charter/private schools, to support these goals at the local level. Sub-awardees will deliver services focused on academic enrichment, health and safety, and use of technology to further student outcomes. This Formula Grant seeks to strengthen education across Maine through the provision of these services.
