The Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education awarded a $11,045,679 Formula Grant under the Twenty-First Century Community Learning Centers (CFDA 84.287) program to the Connecticut Department of Education (CDE). This grant supports the establishment and expansion of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities, particularly for students from high-poverty and low-performing schools.
As the state education agency, CDE is responsible for administering and overseeing public education programs and services across Connecticut. CDE has extensive experience in managing and sub-granting federal education formula and discretionary grants, including programs like IDEA, Title I, and the National School Lunch Program. Through this 21st Century Community Learning Centers award, CDE will coordinate the delivery of academic enrichment and other support services to students and communities throughout the state.
