The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction received a $2.715 million formula grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education under the Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) program (CFDA 84.196) for the period of July 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023. The purpose of this funding is to ensure that homeless children and youth have equal access to free, appropriate public education as well as related support services. To achieve this, sub-awards were provided to twenty school districts across Wisconsin totaling $2.715 million to deliver educational and support services for homeless students through September 2023. Districts receiving sub-awards include the Sun Prairie Area School District, Eau Claire Area School District, Sheboygan Area School District, and others listed.
