The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education has awarded a $9,803,715 Formula Grant under the Migrant Education State Grant Program (CFDA 84.011) to the Arizona Department of Education (ADE), known as EDA, effective July 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025. The grant funding will enable ADE to provide educational services and support to migratory children of agricultural workers and fishers in Arizona. Services to be delivered include supplemental instruction, academic support, English language development, school readiness programs, and career and technical education. ADE will sub-award portions of the grant funding to local school districts, educational service centers, universities, and non-profit organizations to deliver these tailored educational initiatives directly to the target student population. The grant supports ADE's comprehensive approach to addressing the unique educational challenges faced by highly mobile student populations.
