The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Public and Indian Housing Office awarded the Oklahoma City Housing Authority (OCHA) a $1,778,212 Formula Grant under the Public Housing Operating Fund (CFDA 14.850) program. This grant will provide operating subsidies to OCHA from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2031 to assist in funding the day-to-day operational and maintenance expenses of OCHA's public housing properties. The grant supports activities such as property management, routine and preventative maintenance, anti-crime and security initiatives, energy cost management, resident supportive services, and administrative expenses. This funding helps OCHA, a local government housing authority, maintain and operate approximately 902,436 public housing units serving 1,590,321 low-income residents, including 44% elderly and 35% with children, across Oklahoma City.
