APPLICATION PURPOSE: THE PURPOSE OF THIS AWARD IS TO WILL PROVIDE ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION THAT WILL IMPROVE AIR QUALITY AND DECREASE TRAFFIC CONGESTION BY ASSISTING IN THE OPERATING EXPENSES FOR THE BUSES ALONG THE ART CORRIDOR.; ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: FUNDS WILL BE USED TO COVER ALL ELIGIBLE EXPENSES FOR 38 MOTOR COACH OPERATORS POSITIONS ASSIGNED TO THE CENTRAL AVENUE RAPID TRANSIT FOR THE REMAINING 18 MONTHS OF INITIAL OPERATING ASSISTANCE AND WILL COVER ADDITIONAL OPERATING EXPENSES FOR FUELING /ELECTRIC CHARGING FEES TO CHARGE BUSES.; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: THE FUNDING WILL HELP REDUCE TRAFFIC CONGESTION WHICH CAN THEN IMPROVE THE AIR QUALITY.
