The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has been awarded a $134,074 federal Formula Grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services to provide Supported Employment Services for Individuals with the Most Significant Disabilities (CFDA 84.187). This grant, with a performance period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025, will enable DESE's Vocational Rehabilitation/Disability Determinations Division to deliver comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services to help individuals with significant disabilities obtain and maintain competitive integrated employment. The services provided under this grant include job training, vocational counseling, workplace accommodations, independent living assistance, and support for developing essential employment skills. DESE collaborates with local workforce boards, non-profit organizations, and community partners to expand the delivery of these critical support services statewide.
