The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the City of Aurora a $230,640 Emergency Solutions Grant (CFDA 14.231) to support activities addressing homelessness and housing instability. This 2-year Formula Grant, awarded on February 3, 2025, will enable the city to: 1) engage homeless individuals and families through street outreach; 2) improve the number and quality of emergency shelters; 3) provide essential services for shelter residents; and 4) rapidly rehouse homeless individuals and families while preventing additional homelessness. The grant funding can also be used for homeless management information systems and administrative activities. The specific sub-recipient activities are unknown at this time.
