This $1,121,000 Formula Grant award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CFDA 66.458) program will provide capitalization funding to the State of Utah Department of Environmental Quality (UDEQ) to support its Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) program. The primary purpose of this grant is to address emerging contaminants in water systems across Utah. The grant activities will involve providing low-interest financing to numerous sub-recipients for planning, design, and construction of eligible water quality improvement and protection projects focused on emerging contaminants, such as those found in personal care products, pharmaceuticals, and microplastics. The expected outcomes are to establish and maintain an effective and self-sustaining CWSRF program to improve and protect water quality and public health statewide. This grant award has an ultimate completion date of May 31, 2027.
