The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded the Pascua Yaqui Tribe $329,453.92 on October 1, 2025, under the Child Care and Development Fund Mandatory and Matching Funds program (CFDA 93.596), a formula grant. The award funds child care services for low-income families and quality improvement initiatives for all children in the tribe's jurisdiction in Arizona through September 30, 2028. The tribe, as the designated lead agency, must develop and submit a three-year Child Care and Development Fund plan certifying compliance with the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act, establish a sliding fee scale for services, hold public hearings with at least 20 days' notice before the plan becomes effective, and coordinate service delivery with other federal, state, and local child care and early childhood development programs. The tribe must retain all program records for three years from the date of financial reporting submission.
