The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation $1.596967 million on October 1, 2025, under the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP, CFDA 93.568).
LIHEAP provides federally funded assistance to reduce costs associated with home energy bills, energy crises, weatherization, and minor energy-related home repairs for eligible low-income households. The Yakama Nation, a federally recognized tribal government based in Toppenish, Washington, operates the program to serve its community on the 1.4 million-acre reservation in south-central Washington.
The award period runs through September 30, 2027. Place of performance is Washington. This is a formula grant; Block Grants are awarded annually following congressional appropriation and receipt of a complete LIHEAP Model Plan submitted via the ACF Online Data Collection system. Recipients must obtain meaningful public participation in plan development prior to submission.
