The Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service awarded the Santee Sioux Tribe of Nebraska $126,387 in WIC program formula grant funding on October 1, 2025, for administrative expenses under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (CFDA 10.557).
The award funds WIC administrative operations through the period of performance ending September 30, 2026, at the tribe's location in Niobrara, Nebraska. The WIC program provides supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition education, and referrals to health and social services, including breastfeeding promotion and support.
