The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded the Maine Department of Health and Human Services $274,926 under the Chafee Education and Training Vouchers Program (CFDA 93.599) on October 1, 2025. The program provides vouchers for postsecondary training and education to youth who have experienced foster care at age 14 or older, who have aged out of foster care, or who have been adopted or otherwise left foster care. The award covers the period October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2027, with performance taking place in Maine. Funds are disbursed quarterly for up to one-fourth of the state's annual allotment.
