The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living awarded the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration $130,755 on October 1, 2025, under the Older Americans Act Title VII Elder Abuse Prevention program (CFDA 93.041), a formula grant supporting development and strengthening of elder abuse prevention, detection, assessment, and intervention activities.
The award period runs through September 30, 2027, with performance throughout Indiana. The Administration for Community Living distributes funds through a statutory formula to state agencies on aging following review of state plans; Indiana FSSA, the designated state agency, receives this allocation to support activities including training for law enforcement officers, health care providers, and other professionals on recognizing and responding to elder abuse; public awareness and outreach campaigns; and coordination efforts of state and local elder abuse prevention coalitions and multidisciplinary teams. As the principal state administrator of Older Americans Act programs, FSSA distributes sub-award funding to Area Agencies on Aging and community service providers throughout the state. States are entitled to these grants by statute but the award may be terminated if the required State Plan or intrastate funding formula is not approved by the Assistant Secretary for Aging.
