The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare $3.87 million on October 1, 2025, under the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Child Welfare Services Program (CFDA 93.645), a formula grant supporting coordinated child and family services delivered through community-based agencies across Idaho.
The award funds child welfare social services statewide for the period October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2027. The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, through its Financial Services Division, administers the grant and passes funding through to county governments, local health departments, community action agencies, tribal health entities (including the Coeur D'Alene Tribe, Nez Perce Tribe, and Shoshone-Bannock tribal jurisdictions), school districts, and regional health districts across Idaho's seven public health districts to deliver services to vulnerable populations.
The program requires recipients to submit a five-year coordinated plan jointly developed with the state Secretary of Health and Human Services, updated annually by June 30, with approval occurring by September 30 of each year. Funds are drawn down post-award through an account established by the Division of Payment Management. Recipients must maintain records in accordance with 45 CFR 75.361–365 and comply with HHS-codified OMB Guidance (45 CFR Part 75) and applicable ACYF program instructions.
