The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development (TDLWD) has been awarded a $5,693,017 Jobs for Veterans State Grants (JVSG) program grant from the U.S. Department of Labor's Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS). The grant, effective October 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026, supports the hiring of Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) specialists, Local Veterans' Employment Representatives (LVER), and consolidated DVOP/LVER staff within American Job Centers across Tennessee. These positions deliver individualized career services to veterans facing significant barriers to employment, conduct outreach to employers, and work to increase employment opportunities for veterans, especially those who are service-connected disabled, economically or educationally disadvantaged, or homeless. TDLWD may subaward portions of the JVSG grant funding to local workforce development boards, community colleges, and other partners to provide these veteran employment services throughout the state.
