The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Community Living awarded Rehabilitation Education & Advocacy For Citizens With Handicaps Inc. (Reach Inc.) a Formula Grant of $856,078 under the ACL Centers for Independent Living program (CFDA 93.432) for the period from September 30, 2025 through September 29, 2027. This award supports Reach Inc.'s operation of the Reach of Dallas Resource Center on Independent Living as part of Texas's statewide network of centers for independent living (CILs).
Under this grant, Reach Inc. will deliver core independent living services designed to enhance independence and community integration for individuals with significant disabilities. Core services include peer support and counseling, individual and systems advocacy, information and referral assistance, independent living skills training, and transition support from institutional to community-based living arrangements. The funding is provided under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, to support a consumer-controlled, community-based, cross-disability nonprofit organization operating in a local community by and for individuals with disabilities. As a continuation award, this grant reflects Reach Inc.'s demonstrated compliance with program standards and assurances established under Section 725 of the Rehabilitation Act.
