The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration awarded a $14,430,689 formula grant under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Activities program (CFDA 17.259) to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. This grant provides resources for local workforce development areas to deliver comprehensive youth services focused on assisting out-of-school and in-school youth aged 14-24 with barriers to employment. The grant will fund activities to help these youth acquire educational and occupational skills, attain credentials, and secure employment with career growth opportunities. Key services include tutoring, paid and unpaid work experiences, occupational skills training, leadership development, and supportive services. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development is sub-awarding portions of the grant to 10 local workforce development boards and non-profit organizations across the state to directly provide these workforce development services to youth participants.
