The Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service awarded a $90.1 million Formula Grant to the State of Georgia Department of Public Health under the WIC Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (CFDA 10.557) for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.
The WIC program aims to provide supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition education, and referrals to health and social services to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, as well as infants and children up to age five who are determined to be at nutritional risk. Through this award, the Georgia Department of Public Health will deliver these services to eligible recipients in Georgia, utilizing $90.1 million in federal funding to directly support the health of women, infants, and children through improved access to nutrition and healthcare.
