The Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service awarded a $105,566 Formula Grant to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under the WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP; CFDA #10.572) for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.
The purpose of the FMNP is to provide fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs to women, infants and children participating in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) through vouchers that can be exchanged at authorized farmers' markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture programs. Under this award, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will administer the FMNP voucher program in Florida, allowing eligible WIC participants to purchase eligible foods directly from Florida farmers.
