The Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (VCAPCD) received a $1,115,038 formula grant award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 under the Air Pollution Control Program Support federal grant program (CFDA #66.001). The grant will support VCAPCD's efforts to implement air pollution control programs throughout Ventura County from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.
Key deliverables include activities to attain and maintain National Ambient Air Quality Standards, such as control strategy development and implementation, air quality monitoring, emissions inventory, and permitting and enforcement excluding Title V activities. The grant will also fund public outreach, data analysis, and innovative pollution reduction approaches. Outcomes include broadening awareness of air quality programs established under the Clean Air Act to address public health threats from air pollution. The intended beneficiaries are Ventura County residents who will experience decreased exposure to criteria and hazardous air pollutants.
